Some news for the Makers out there: Microsoft and its partners have updated the line of IoT starter kits based on Windows 10 IoT Core.
Two new options are available to help you kick off your IoT projects.
The Microsoft Internet of Things Pack for Raspberry Pi 3, from Adafruit, is an update to the kit the company released last year. As the name implies, this one now comes with a Raspberry Pi 3, though the $114.95 sticker price is the same as the original version.
Also included: a full-sized breadboard, 5V 2A power adapter, assembled AdaFruit temperature/pressure and color sensors, a 16GB memory card preloaded with NOOBS, and all the necessary connectors.
At $154.99, Seeed’s Grove Starter Kit for IoT Based on Raspberry Pi does not include the computer itself. But its Grove system simplifies the sometimes-gnarly hardware connections involved in IoT projects by using a common connector. It allows you to easily connect up to 15 modules to either a Raspberry Pi 2 or 3. Check out the specs here.
